Hotels Vs. Vacation Rentals

Jan 10, 2012 | No Responses

How can anyone fall into full relaxation mode amid a frenzy of hotel nonsense?

The obstacles are endless with front desk queues, noisy neighbours, and overcooked food.  You even need a calculated plan to get a decent palapa by the pool!   Being a priority amongst a guest list of 300 is just not possible, and this is the first myth hotels want you to believe.  Take control of your vacation, be the priority you so deserve to be!

Hotels leave little to the imagination with an artifical landscape and little cultural flavour.  They are superficial with a hit or miss success rate.  If you’re looking for a lazy, don’t even want to lift a finger, vacation than resorts are your best option.  Restaurants blanket the grounds with a handful of pools (bar included), and fairies that clean the trail of dirt you leave behind.

Every year the availability of vacation rentals flood the market.  There’s a growing trend for those seeking more self-sufficient accommodation. Seeing as a large part of your travel budget goes to accommodation it’s important to choose the appropriate dwelling to meet all your needs.

With a mass of hotel rooms topped one above the other there is a strong possibility you could go stir crazy.  Try and escape to the outdoors, but you’ll find yourself surrounded by herds of people.  Slowly that daydream you conjured up while cooped up in the office vanishes.

Vacation homes offer that home away from home feeling! Here you can separate yourself from the world for a bit of peace and serenity.  The advantages to renting a fully furnished (including kitchen) vacation home are endless:

  1. You are in full control!  You have specific food requirements not a problem.  With full kitchens you can eat what you want, when you want.  This is especially appealing if you’re into healthier options.
  2. Pet lovers.  Many resorts are not animal friendly.
  3. More space, indoors and outdoors, even when renting a bachelor.
  4. Personal. Owners are always available for questions or suggestions.
  5. Get out and see the city.  The resort sucks you in which makes it very easy to get lost in this mythical setting.  Visiting a country means experiencing the new.  Challenge yourself to speak the language or try the dishes of the region.  If you’re cooking meals you’re forced to explore various food markets.  Get on the local bus to risk the adventure.

Delve into a new world and consider a vacation home for your next getaway!
