Vegetarian Restaurant in Cancun
For those vegetarians out there finding a veggie friendly restaurant can be difficult to find in Cancun, but the trend for healthy living is catching on. Along the R2 bus route there is a great little place in El Centro. They offer a set menu which includes salad, soup, main course, dessert, and unlimited juice. You’re sure to get a fair portion of protein as the meat is substituted with tofu and beans are usually found in one of the dishes. For a mere 50 pesos you will be served a feast full of flavour, and you are sure to leave fully satisfied, wanting more.
Now the question, “How do I get there?” It’s very easy, but you have to keep your eyes sharp because it is tucked away, and easy to miss. The restaurant is on Coba between Avenida Palenque and Xel-ha. This is the route that runs from the Hotel Zone on Avenida Bonampak (which turns into Coba), and runs straight through El Centro.
The beauty of it is there are no bus transfers or mini treks to take just to get there. The restaurant is at the corner of Coba, just west of Palenque. On the opposite side is Plaza Hollywood. Here you will find an HSBC, Starbucks, liquor store, and other retail stores. There is also a Walmart in the area. The restaurant is quaint equipped with outdoor and indoor tables. Just a note, there is no smoking or outside food (especially if it contains meat) permitted on the premises. A friend of mine was asked to leave when he stopped to talk to a friend because he was eating a burger.
Provecho!
